Wire-to-board / board-to-board manual welding into history

A few years ago, in order to reduce costs, wire-to-board and board-to-board manual welding has been a frustrating choice for many Chinese LED lamp manufacturers. Today, in order to solve the heat dissipation problem of LED lighting, aluminum substrates with better thermal conductivity have gradually been Large-scale use, such as continued to adhere to manual welding, the connection quality risk will be greatly increased. As we all know, the soldering process requires an optimal soldering temperature. When the soldering iron head is placed on the pad of the aluminum substrate during manual soldering, the temperature of the solder joint cannot rise rapidly due to the good thermal conductivity of the aluminum substrate. Hidden quality problems such as false welding and cold welding seriously affect the quality of products. In response to these problems, Tyco Electronics has developed a series of wire-to-board and side-board-to-board connectors for solid-state lighting suitable for high-speed surface mount (SMT). Process requirements, the connector can be surface-mounted with the LED. SMT and through-hole plug-in lighting connectors (Figure 1), whether it is an ordinary plastic board or aluminum substrate, can provide fast and reliable cable termination, this small size and low height SMT one-bit and two-bit connection It is very suitable for LED light bar interconnection, lighting controller and other applications using plug-in wiring. The connector complies with RoHS specifications, the terminal is made of copper alloy, the nickel layer is the bottom plating, the surface is tinned, the shell is made of high temperature plastic, and the flame retardant rating reaches UL94-V0. Although this plug-in LED connector is most suitable for 18AWG 6 ~ 16 core stranded wire, it can also be used for 18 ~ 22AWG solid core wire and 18 ~ 20AWG pre-bonded stranded wire.

The Plug Connector uses a multi-strand wire diameter that can support 18 to 22 AWG (0.3 to 0.9 square millimeters). The material uses a crimped tinned copper terminal and a thermoplastic shell with a UL94-V0 flame retardant rating. Use and provide active locking function to ensure safe connection.

The small side board-to-board connector with integrated design of non-polar plug sockets can provide a more flexible installation method between LED printed circuit boards than the traditional design with polarity. The connector can slide horizontally or vertically Combine two circuit boards to complete the connection. The vertical sliding connection design makes it easier to replace the circuit board in the middle of the LED light string. Just lift the circuit board to be replaced and put it into the new circuit board.

Board end connectors can be used for both board-to-board and wire-to-board connections. The advantage of adopting non-polar design is that users only need to reserve a product for board application, which reduces the complexity of inventory. Since the board ends are required to be designed with the same structure, the design is simplified. Terminal reel packaging is convenient for high-speed termination equipment operation.
