Overview

The Plate Load Tester is designed to measure the subgrade reaction modulus of coarse and fine-grained soils, as well as compacted soil layers such as road bases. It can also be used to calculate the deformation modulus of uniform soil foundations. This equipment is directly sold by the manufacturer.

Operating Procedures

. Place the load plate on a prepared test site. It's recommended to lay a thin layer of fine sand underneath for better stability.

. Drive the test vehicle to a position within 1 meter of the test point, ensuring that the rear beam of the vehicle is directly above the load plate.

. Position the jacks on top of the load plate.

. Install the measuring bridge in a symmetrical position around the test point.

. Turn the jack’s lifting screw until it makes contact with the rear beam of the vehicle. If necessary, use an extension rod to adjust the height.

. Mount the dial gauge on the dial gauge bracket and ensure that the measuring rod is vertically aligned with the load measurement point.

. Keep the pressure gauge clean and avoid pulling or hitting the dial gauge. Do not let dust or oil get on the measuring rod. When not in use, cover the dial gauge and pressure gauge with plastic covers and store them in a dry indoor area to prevent cracking and moisture damage.

. Regularly check and refill the hydraulic oil in the pump. Use 10-grade motor oil, and fill it through the oil inlet located at the back of the cylinder. The oil capacity should be about 1 liter.

. Before testing, make sure all tightening nuts are securely fastened and not loose.

. During testing, the dial gauge must be perpendicular to the surface of the load plate, and the diameter should be consistent.
