Always thinking about how to back up photos, see value friends have sunk out of the NAS, and even buy a millet 1T router are reluctant. Thinking that there is no elder sister on the computer, the goal is to back up the photos for the past few years. Finally, I searched for information on several sites including Zhang Aunt. I finally decided to use the old computer + seafile to back up photos.
First, why choose to use the old computer + seafile
There are three laptops at home, two i5+500GB, one DELL and one Lenovo, one to buy Compaq in 2007, and Intel dual-core+120GB. Usually two i5s are used in the two places respectively. In 2007, Compaq was actually configured. Too bad, now 200 yuan can not sell. Since the goal is now to backup 50GB of photos in recent years, it is ready to use Compaq laptop waste as a cloud server.

After contrasting seafile, owncloud and even goodsync, finally because seafile is domestic open source, the specification and data should be relatively good to read, choose seafile.
Second, the installation of the server
According to Seafile's user manual, the server installation is very convenient. Divided into the following steps:
Install ubuntu14.04; (as a server, Linux is more stable than windows, because the computer is really bad, do not want to install ubuntu16, so I chose ubuntu14)
Download seafile server software. First download the corresponding server version on the seafile homepage. I downloaded linux32 bit. (Special Note: Do not download in the backup download address. The alternate download file name is .....X86-x64. I can't start downloading on the homepage. I downloaded the server software from the backup and thought it was a generic version. The result was not. Finally After downloading the 32-bit software on the homepage with the mobile phone, it is deployed again after it is copied to the computer.) According to the user manual, the downloaded zip file is first extracted to the computer.
Install support software, copy the following two commands of the user manual, run on the terminal
Install seafile 
Configure the following four parameters as prompted: 
After running the server, there will be the following prompts: 
Enter http://127.0.0.1:8000 in the browser. If a seafile page appears, the server runs successfully.
Third, install the client
Download the software of the corresponding version on the client. After downloading, install the following interface:

Through the configuration, the photo folder was added and used very conveniently. You can use the cloud to view the files.

V. Summary
Seafile also has a lot of powerful features, such as group functions, but also through the Nginx and Apache configuration seame, to achieve synchronization outside the network. Because people are too lazy, simply implement LAN synchronization and try it out. There is also seafile software on the mobile phone side, but each time the photo is viewed, it will be downloaded directly and it will be abandoned.
At present, servers have been used to synchronize the photos of two i5 computers. Data is protected by three computers and there should be no risk of loss. It also eliminates the trouble of using U disk to copy and synchronize. The old computer finally came into play. It is easy and cost-effective to install and use. It is recommended to try it.
