Volvo's first automatic driving XC90 off the assembly line, next year's official display of L4 results

After Tesla was equipped with an autopilot kit on a production vehicle, Volvo’s self-driving vehicle was also announced to enter the beta phase.

The first Volvo XC90 SUV used to participate in Volvo's Drive Me autopilot beta test was recently rolled off the Volvo production line in Torslanda, Sweden. Volvo described the beta as "the world's most ambitious and advanced public autopilot experiment."

For the first time, about 100 Volvo XC90 fully automatic drones were tested, equipped with various sensors, including lidar, millimeter-wave radar, and conventional cameras. At the time of the test, hundreds of drivers will use the driverless function on the road every day, but this time the test needs to be carried out on the route specified in the city of Goteborg in Sweden. The future Drive Me pilotless pilot project will also land in London, including China.

Volvo will continue to produce the XC90 this type of car and put it into the Drive Me beta test. Of course, it takes time to produce a self-driving car. Volvo will officially launch this project next year. However, Volvo has been steadily developing steadily over the years in the development of autonomous driving.

Volvo first put forward a technical route that is suitable for the practical application of ordinary consumers, and it is also the first automotive manufacturer that has a clear plan for autonomous driving products.

In September 2012, three unmanned Volvo cars under the leadership of a manned truck completed a European eco-friendly road safety testing program at a speed of 90km/h on the highway in Barcelona, Spain. Volvo has thus become the first automaker to implement fully automated follow-up testing on open highways.

In December 2013, the Volvo Drive Me project was made public and road testing began in Gothenburg, Sweden. In March 2015, the project entered China. The V60 in Beijing’s West Sixth Ring Road was one of the main players in the Drive Me project and represented Volvo’s first road test on an actual road in China. Volvo also became the first car brand to come to China for a highly automated road test. Of course, in testing, Volvo also discovered the uniqueness and complexity of China's traffic environment.

In April 2016, Volvo Group announced that it will set up an automatic driving test base in China. Recently, they are promoting the Drive Me project in China, and the XC90 driverless car will also be tested in some cities in China. In other words, Volvo is also prepared for traffic conditions on China's complicated roads.

In 2017, Volvo will deliver approximately 100 XC90 self-driving cars to ordinary consumers for the first time.

Previously introduced is semi-autonomous driving, which requires the driver to select and activate the functions used therein. The next year's test is a fully automatic driving of the target L4 level, which is more desirable than the L3 level Tesla Autopilot. This not only requires the vehicle to identify road conditions and provide assistance in decision-making, but also has a high degree of integration of various systems such as automotive systems and navigation, high-precision maps, and car networking.

Dr. Erik Coelingh, Senior Technical Director of Volvo, said that Volvo’s ultimate goal in developing autonomous driving at this stage is not to replace drivers, but to give drivers more choices. Volvo hopes to return the "lost time" of the original drive to the driver. In addition, Volvo completely retains the self-driving function of traditional cars, enabling drivers to enjoy driving pleasure even when they like to drive by themselves. At this point, Volvo has a fundamental difference from the original intention of a technology company.

Audio Video Cable

Audio Video Cable:Video cable, referred to as video cable, is composed of video cable and connector. Among them, video cable is coaxial shielded cable with characteristic impedance of 75 Ω (Ω). Common specifications are divided into - 3 and - 5 according to wire diameter, single core wire and multi-core wire according to core wire, common specifications of connector are divided into pressure joint and welding joint according to cable end connection mode, and equipment There are BNC (commonly known as bayonet) and RCA (commonly known as lotus head). Audio cable, referred to as audio cable, is composed of audio cable and connector. The audio cable is generally a dual core shielded cable, and the common connectors are RCA (commonly known as lotus head), XLR (commonly known as XLR head) and trsjacks (commonly known as pen plug).
