At EmbeddedWorld 2017, Rohde & Schwarz introduced three new entry-level products that redefined the perception of "noble and expensive." The Munich-based company, known for its high-end test instruments, launched a new line of affordable yet high-quality tools to expand its VI product portfolio. Alongside this, they also aimed to strengthen their global distribution network and partner ecosystem.

On March 14, 2017, in Munich, it was announced that Rohde & Schwarz has been synonymous with innovation and premium testing solutions for over 80 years. Now, the company is shifting its image to offer advanced technology at more accessible price points. By applying its extensive technical expertise and quality standards, they are set to make a significant impact on the entry-level instrument market.

Three New Entry-Level Instruments

The RTB2000 is an entry-level oscilloscope featuring 10-bit vertical resolution, 10M sample memory, and a 10-inch touch screen—making it one of the most advanced options in its class. The FPC1000 spectrum analyzer offers strong RF performance, software-enabled features, the highest resolution in its category, and a large display. It also supports WiFi connectivity via a mobile app and PC software for enhanced control. The NGE100 is a laboratory-grade power supply designed for engineers, offering 2 or 3 channels with galvanic isolation, low ripple, and independent voltage, current, and power settings per channel.

Expanding the Distribution Network

Rohde & Schwarz is expanding its global distribution network, particularly in key markets. They now have over 100 distributors worldwide carrying the VI series. This marks a major shift in their strategy, aiming to bring their high-quality products to more customers efficiently.

Rohde & Schwarz officially launched the RTB2000, FPC1000, and NGE100 at EmbeddedWorld 2017 in Nuremberg, Germany. These products are now available through authorized distributors globally.
