An American man was shot while playing Pokemon Go

The authorities said on Sunday that a 20-year-old American man was unfortunately shot while playing Pokemon Go at the famous Fisherman's Wharf Aquatic Park near San Francisco.

Jansing pointed out that when Riley was shot dead, he was playing Pokemon Go while walking on the waterside walkway. The murderer did not take Riley’s belongings or try to rob him. Investigators are not clear about the murderer's motive for killing. Jansing said: "No obvious motives for killing have yet been discovered."

Park spokesperson Lynn Cullivan said that although the accident occurred late at night, several people remained in the park. However, Jansing said that no witnesses have been found. Investigators are calling for video footage from surveillance cameras, hoping to find the gunner's portrait. The police are calling for eyewitness witnesses or people staying in the park just during the accident to contact the US Park Police.

Calvin Riley is from San Mateo, California. Graduated from Sierra High School in 2015 and is currently studying at San Joaquin Delta State College. According to the school website, Riley's major is kinesiology, and he is also a member of the school baseball team.

People set up a fundraising website for Riley's funeral expenses. Riley's cousin, Gabriel Morales, wrote on the site that Riley's family learned about the bad news on Sunday morning. Morales writes to the deceased Riley: “You have realized your dream with your own hard work and talent. I hope I have the opportunity to speak to you again. I will tell you how much I love you and how I am. I miss you. How I wish to see you again."

At present, it is not clear whether the shooting incident is related to Pokemon Go. The game was released this summer and quickly became popular. This application can combine the GPS data of the user's smartphone to guide the player to capture the elf. The player can only capture the elf by pointing the camera at the elf and throwing a virtual sprite ball.

This game has attracted many players to parks, trestle bridges and waterside walkways. Previously, YiViAn has reported that players of "Pokemon Go" have become criminal targets. Last month, two men in northern California were robbed while playing this augmented reality game. In San Francisco, a pair of brothers and sisters were robbed of mobile phones while playing Pokemon Go.
