LED replacement for fluorescent lights in the Michigan office building for 4 years

Ilumisys announced that it will begin working with Michigan to provide LED lighting to replace fluorescent tubes and collect research data from the Escanaba office building in Michigan.

For more than four years starting this month, ilumisys will install three generations of LED lighting, each replacing 200 four-foot fluorescent tubes - about 25% of the two-story. 31,000 square meters. Each generation is more energy efficient and offers additional improvements and features. Michigan and ilumisys will collect and share research data at each stage.

The development of solid-state lighting technology is an important part of Governor Jennifer M. Granholm's plan to improve alternative energy technologies and create jobs. Lisa Webb Sharpe, head of the Department of Management and Budget, said that our collaboration with research and through the pilot project with ilumisys in the Escanaba building will help us continue to evaluate, design and implement environmentally friendly energy-saving strategies for state buildings.

Dave Simon, president of ilumisys, said that we know that there will be immediate results in reducing power usage and will drop even more as the plan progresses.
